Geometric Probability quant interview practice.

Geometric probability converts random positions, lengths, or times into regions whose measure can be compared. The reviewed questions involve random points, broken segments, overlap conditions, distances, and inequalities that define feasible shapes. Begin by identifying the coordinate system and the measure under which the selection is uniform. Translate the event into constraints, sketch the allowed region, and compare its length, area, or volume with the complete sample space. Symmetry can reduce the domain, but the resulting multiplicative factor must be justified. In higher-dimensional or transformed settings, a short integral may be safer than visual intuition. Candidates should pay special attention to boundary events, which generally have zero probability in continuous models, and to apparently uniform variables that do not remain uniform after a nonlinear transformation.
